Born and educated in London, Jonathan moved to the sailing town of Lymington on the south coast of England at 15, and now lives on the coast of south west France, where the formidable Bay of Biscay and the Atlantic swell provide a dramatic backdrop to his land and seascape photographs. He also spends much of his time travelling to some of the best water locations in the world for a growing list of commercial clients, working in and around the ocean to create his trademark dramatic, ethereal images. Jonathan often works in low light and adverse weather conditions, sometimes using unusually long exposures to create an almost impressionist view of his subject, working with a combination of both traditional film and digital photographic methods. Now represented in galleries and agencies around the world, Jonathan is also a regular contributor to magazines such as Black & White Photography and Outdoor Photography.

His workshop methods have proved very successful and have created quite a following over the last few years.
