Exposure for Beginners
Overview
This workshop is a two day event aimed at those who wish to understand the principles of exposure, and how to apply them creatively. During this workshop you will be introduced to the fundamentals of controlling your camera's exposure. We'll examine the importance differences between how the camera records light versus how your eyes see it. If you thought exposure might be a difficult, dry subject to tackle, think again. Most people are amazed at how much more simple it actually is. We'll teach you how to reach a scene's light, and how to expose correctly for it. We'll look at the effects of changing aperture and shutter speed, and how they can change the look and feel of your shots.
The workshop is aimed at people who are either just starting out with the the concepts of exposure control, or those who just wish to build on their existing skills. The workshop requires that you use a camera with separate shutter speed and aperture controls. During the workshop and whilst out in the field shooting, we will be asking you to shoot in Manual exposure mode, therefore please ensure your camera has such a setting. If in any doubt, don't hesitate to contact us directly and we'll guide you with any questions you have.
